Aboriginal Islander Education Program

Learning Support Programs

This program provides support through the appointment of an Aboriginal Islander Education Officer who directly supports our Indigenous students and families. A range of initiatives and resources that include the following add to this support.

  • Deadly Sister Girlz Program: (David Wirrpanda Foundation) uses our female role models to empower young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to make informed decisions about their personal health and wellbeing to lead a positive and healthy lifestyle.
  • Follow the Dream Education Support Program: After school tutoring, homework and goal setting program that supports students in their current phase of schooling and helps them goal-set and prepare for the next phase.
  • ATAS funding: which is used to provide strategically directed support to students with identified literacy needs.
  • NAIDOC activities: differing from year to year, a range of activities are prepared that celebrate Indigenous culture.
