BaseballGifted Baseball students are provided a challenging program that develops their Baseball skills and understandings in playing, coaching, umpiring, theory, strategy and access to elite strength and conditioning over the course of their time at school.

As part of a comprehensive education South Fremantle SHS provides a safe, secure environment that helps students explore and develop their potential as sports men and women, and as well rounded people ready to take their place in society.

BaseballStudents are able to pursue a number of pathways to receive accreditation for their work, including Certificates I & II in Sport & Recreation, AASC Coaching Accreditation, Introduction to Umpiring & Scoring as well as being involved in Baseball relevant work placements and nutrition and sports medicine workshops.

Graduates have won many national tournaments and championships, represented Perth Heat in national competition and Australia in international competition, and gained professional contracts with major league organisations and won scholarships to U.S. colleges.

Baseball students compete in the Australian Schools Baseball Focus Tournament every one to two years. Senior and junior teams have enjoyed repeated success in their divisions.

Pre-requisite skills, qualifications, experience, health requirements

  • Demonstrated sustained interest/involvement in baseball or similar at club level
  • Physical ability to participate at a high level in all curriculum areas (assessed during tryouts)
