Partnerships are at the heart of effective teaching and learning at South Fremantle Senior High School. South Fremantle SHS actively cultivates strong partnerships with parents and with community businesses and agencies.
We believe the greatest benefit to our students is provided by interdependence between the school, families and local organisations/businesses.
Parent involvement at the school is strongly encouraged and new members are welcome to participate on these committees.
The School Board meets twice a Term in the Trade Training Centre. See the calendar for exact dates.
The School Board was formed for the fundamental purpose of enabling parents and members of the community to engage in activities that are in the best interests of students and will enhance the education provided by the school.
Being on the School Board provides an important opportunity for parent/guardians to make a significant contribution to the shaping of the school at one of the most exciting times in the history of the school.
Enquiries about the School Board should be directed through the school.

Local Primary Schools
As part of South Fremantle SHS’s community focus we provide a variety of opportunities for our local primary children to:
- learn music in the Calvert Music Centre and perform publicly with our students.
- engage in a “Junior Master Mariner Program” sponsored by the Fremantle Port Authority.
- participate in Baseball clinics to develop skills and talents in this field.
- develop great maths skills (2013 and beyond subject to resourcing)
South Fremantle SHS runs an extensive transition program across the primary school years in Beaconsfield, Fremantle, Hilton, White Gum Valley and Winterfold Primary Schools and in other schools as requested.
As a small community minded public school with a mandate to provide education to all students we provide an exceptional level of care to all of our students and we value the supportive and loyal parents and broad range of community members who work alongside us to strengthen our school and enrich the education of all in our care. We work hard to help all of our students realise their potential and contribute positively to their community.
Parents are encouraged to make South Fremantle Senior High School their school of choice so that we can grow and together continue to achieve wide-ranging excellence.
